The school principal or the authorized person has to visit the official website of Fit India Mission and fill the online registration form with the required details.
The school has to pay a nominal registration fee of Rs 250 through online mode using debit card, credit card, net banking, UPI, or wallet.

The school has to login to the Fit India Quiz portal using the credentials and enroll the students who wish to participate in the quiz. The school can enroll up to four students per team and up to two teams per school.

The preliminary round is an online test that will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) from August 1, 2022 to August 31, 2022. The test will have 30 multiple choice questions based on sports and fitness. The test will be of 45 minutes duration and will have negative marking for wrong answers. The test will be available in English and Hindi languages. The test can be taken from any device with internet connectivity. The test can be taken only once by each student. The best score of each team will be considered for ranking. The top two teams from each state/UT will qualify for the state/UT round.
State/UT round
The state/UT round is a live quiz that will be conducted by Doordarshan from September 1, 2022 to October 31, 2022. The quiz will have four rounds: direct questions, buzzer round, audio-visual round, and rapid fire round. The quiz will have questions based on sports and fitness related to the respective state/UT. The quiz will be of 30 minutes duration and will have no negative marking. The quiz will be conducted in English and Hindi languages. The quiz will be telecasted on Doordarshan channels and live streamed on Fit India Mission website and social media platforms. The winner and runner-up of each state/UT will qualify for the national round.
National round
The national round is a live quiz that will be conducted by Doordarshan from November 1, 2022 to December 31, 2022. The quiz will have four rounds: direct questions, buzzer round, audio-visual round, and rapid fire round. The quiz will have questions based on sports and fitness related to India and the world. The quiz will be of 45 minutes duration and will have no negative marking The quiz will be conducted in English and Hindi languages. The quiz will be telecasted on Doordarshan channels and live streamed on Fit India Mission website and social media platforms. The top 12 teams from the national round will be declared as the national champions and will receive the cash prizes.
